David Upchurch Takes on Church Ministries Director Position
Lincoln Christian University (LCU) is pleased to announce that David Upchurch joined the University Advancement team on January 1 as Director of Church Ministries. David fills the position left vacant when Dr. Don Green transitioned to full-time faculty in the Hargrove School of Adult & Graduate Studies. As Director of Church Ministries, Upchurch brings with him more than 30 years of experience in local church leadership, and will be a valuable resource to all our churches.
David is an alumnus of Lincoln Christian University (BA '80) and Kentucky Christian University (Master of Ministry). He was also recognized in 2010, with the LCU Alumni Association Restoration Award for Outstanding Service in Preaching Ministry.
For the last 13 years Upchurch has been Lead Minister of Rochester Christian Church in Rochester, IL. During his tenure there, attendance more than doubled and offerings nearly tripled. Previously, David served in ministries in Plano, IL, Havana, IL, and in Harrodsburg, KY.
David's wife of 31 years, Cindy, is a fourth grade teacher in Rochester, IL. They have three adult children: Krista (LCU '05) married to Josh Weber (LCU '03, '06), Matt, and Jake. They also have one grandchild.
